CCA wire can be evaluated for lightweight and high-frequency conductors. CCS round and stranded wire addresses applications where mechanical strength is part of the design. Copper strip and foil cover shielding and connection requirements; NCC requires a defined need for its nickel surface.

Specify conductor resistance or conductivity, wire or strand geometry, tensile requirements, operating frequency, termination and environmental exposure. Applicable cable and grounding requirements must be checked for the construction and target market. Equal dimensions do not establish equal resistance, ampacity or system performance.
