A ribbon that meets its material specification still needs to work on the intended stringer and in the finished module. Resistance, solderability, peel strength, handling and cell stress are assessed together with the module reliability tests.
Cell technology and contact layout determine the conductor path. Coating alloy and soldering temperature affect the joining process. Camber, mechanical properties and spool format affect feeding and placement.
