Automotive conductor selection depends on the circuit, joining method, thermal conditions and customer qualification requirements.
CCA round or flat wire can be evaluated for weight-sensitive harnesses and windings. NCC strip or foil can be evaluated for battery connections. Copper strip, foil and flat wire cover connection and winding requirements defined by the drawing.
For CCA, review voltage drop, termination and corrosion exposure alongside the required current. Motor and battery designs also require the relevant insulation, welding, thermal-cycle and mechanical tests. Customer approval and any applicable quality-system requirements remain project-specific.
Include the subsystem and drawing, current, permitted voltage drop, temperature, joining process, acceptance tests, annual demand and qualification schedule.
