Compare Conductor Cost and Mass
State whether the designs have equal dimensions, equal DC resistance or another defined requirement. Include conductor length, finished cross-section, layer ratio, conductivity at the stated temperature and termination requirements.
Use current metal prices and the purchased mass for each candidate design. Include processing, coating, insulation, joining, packaging, tooling and qualification costs where applicable.
Check resistance, temperature rise, joining and mechanical requirements in the intended assembly. Emissions claims require a defined assessment boundary and documented source data.
Use the CCA equivalent-diameter tool for its stated engineering comparison, or discuss your specification.
